Located in the southeastern part of Yamhill County, Amity prides itself as the “Friendliest Little City in Oregon” and was incorporated in 1880. This community was uniquely named after the dust settled between two rival communities concerning the location of their school which were able to reach an amicable solution between the communities; resulting in the town’s name. The city has a total area of 0.61 square miles of which, 0.60 square miles is land and 0.01 square miles is water.
