McMinnville, Oregon...

Located in the center of Yamhill County, McMinnville is the county seat of Yamhill County. It was incorporated in 1876 and is now surrounded by the Willamette Valley American Viticultural Area thus giving it its claim to the title of the capital of Oregon’s Wine Industry. A nationally featured UFO siting has led to a "UFO Festival" being held in McMinnville each year, which is the biggest such gathering in the Pacific Northwest, and second in the country only to Roswell, New Mexico's. McMinnville is located 50 miles from the Pacific Ocean, 35 miles from Portland, and 26 miles from Salem, the state capital. The city has a total area of 10.58 square miles, all of it land.
