Newberg, Oregon...Gateway to Oregon Wine Country

Located in the northeastern part of Yamhill County, Newberg is the second largest community in Yamhill County and is situated between the Willamette River and Chehalem Mountain. The city was incorporated in 1889 and is often referred to as the “Gateway to the Wine Country”. Newberg was founded by the Quakers and is home to George Fox University. It was a “dry” community for a good part of its early history but has blossomed as home to fine dining and wine tasting rooms that celebrate the local bounty. Newberg is located on Oregon Route 99W about 25 miles southwest of Portland, Oregon. The city has a total area of 5.81 square miles, all of it land.
